Things we LOVE: AMC A-List

In December we learned about the new AMC Stubs A-list program. If you enroll in this program, for $20 a month you can see up to 3 movies a week. If you are a movie buff like Cole and I, this is totally worth it. If you take into account the fact that a ticket at AMC almost $9 during the evenings and almost $7 for a matinee then you only need to see 3 movies a month for it to pay off. We officially signed up for Stubs in January in anticipation for all of the movies coming out in the first few months of 2019.

During the opening week of Aquaman Cole went to see it at least 4 times so we definitely got our moneys worth for that movie. So far we have used our Stubs for 8 showtimes in the last 2 months. Without being a rewards member that would have cots us 57-80 dollars just in the cost of tickets. With the membership however, we have paid $40 and seen all 8 movies with free popcorn almost all of the times. As an added bonus, one of the days we went to a show was Cole’s birthday so we got a #1 combo for free.

In addition to the 3 movies a week, there are other great bonuses to being an A-List member/If you reserve your ticket with the app then the online booking fee is waived. 10% is given back to you in rewards points on all AMC purchases, as well as free size upgrades on drinks and popcorn. Cole and I have the annual popcorn bucket and every time we go and get a popcorn I am given a free popcorn ticket in exchange for going online and taking a survey. I usually go on my phone and take the survey during previews in the show if I have enough time. Thanks to the popcorn tickets, I have only actually paid for a popcorn twice since joining Stubs.

Specifically for Cole, reserving tickets on the app makes a world of difference relieving the anxiety of the social interaction at the ticket and concession counters. I also appreciate the ease of just scanning my phone and not taking all the time in line. I will LOVE this perk when it comes to busy midnight premieres and getting tickets ahead of time if we are in busier cities. So far, we love being AMC Stubs members, and we plan on continuing our membership for the foreseeable future.

You may be wondering what makes our relationship so unique... Cole has Asperger's, and I (McKenna) have Cerebral Palsy. The challenges of life, coupled with our disabilities can make for a pretty interesting day-to-day life. In fact our life sometimes seems like anything but day-to-day. I suppose the same can be said for our relationship from the beginning. We started dating just over 2 years ago and decided that we wanted to have a courtship than your typical dating relationship. The purpose of showing people our lives, is to show people that disability doesn't need to stop you from reaching your goals. You can still go to college, live independently, get married, and even have a family regardless of the cards you are dealt. We may not be your typical couple. we may not live "normal lives" but that doesn't stop us from living the best life we can!
